Anybody know where I can borrow an Aston Martin for a couple of days (I don't mind what - could be a DB7)?  I was looking at one of the main car hire companies (might have been Enterprise) and I can have a DB9, sure, but the price was going to be about £1500 and if you go over 100 miles per day they want another £3 per mile!!!!

Thats the kind of price (inc the mileage limitation/exceed costs) that is bounced around for these type of cars. Looked into it myself a while ago.

The mileage seems ridiculous for anything other than wedding chauffeuring. I am looking at a 400 mile trip, which would add £600 to the cost. What's so unreasonable about going 200 miles one day and coming 200 miles back the next?

Depreciation, I suppose.

I wasn't proposing to "drive it hard", more "waft along".

I've found a way I can do this for £855: Collect from Frome, do my day trip, take it home overnight, take it back to Frome next day.  Unfortunately they can't take delivery after 5.30pm (which is a severe limitation for doing it all in one day).  However, based on other quotes, that's a bargain!  And I have a choice of V8 or Rapide V12 (guess which...)
